This blog is a contradiction

You know what?
It's funny how your opinions change over time. When I first started my blog I was raving on about how I really wanted a drummer for our band and it would be so mean and bla bla bla bla.
Well back then I was of the notion that Nate wouldn't be the drummer, but now he is. So today I found myself thinking "Man I liked it back in the old days when Nate was on the keyboards. It was so much easier, we pretty much were in time, and we could hear ourselves think (and sing). But now it's bash bash bash and I get out of time heaps."
Don't tell Nate I said that.

Jordan

We didn't write that song.

It's the last day of the month.
Boy I sure got discouraged today. =( Not again. It was mostly because I always get out of time in the guitar it sucks so bad. I really think it's a major problem cos we can never be a decent band if I'm always off time.
I figured out though that we need to simplify our songs. They're to complicated. And when they're complicated we all get confused. All we need is a catchy tune and a bit of a background beat. All sorted. So we're going to do that tomorrow.
By the way, we didn't write that song anyway. How did I know?
Mostly because our 'songwriting sessions' never work out well. Actually we didn't get time to do it today.
Anyway my moral for today is to never give up once you've started cos once you've hit the bottom the only way to go is up.
And if it dosn't work at least you can't say you never tried.

Ps. I'm still smiling!!!!!!! =)

The story of a Jellybaby.

Well once upon a time, in a supermarket, yes that's right, a supermarket, called New World actually ( or rather it was just called New World,), there was a jellybaby.

The jellybaby lived in a case full of friends and he had a good life staring out through cool plastic wondering what the funny people were doing.

Until one day a giant SCOOP came in a nd picked him right up and he was put in a clear plastic bag with a whole lot of very scary lollys (especially the eskimo). Then they were moving all around the place, and out of the supermarket, after a brief stop at the counter, and the bag was swaying and very soon the jellybaby felt seasick. Or rather it felt bagsick. Whatever.

Then it stopped and the jellybaby was taken out into fresh air, and he was just admiring the vies when SNAP! a bright camera flash errupted in his eyes. The Jellybaby thought he'd gone blind but he hadn't really he was just a bit of a drama queen that's all. And for the record, he didn't have any eyes either which kind of makes it hard to go blind.

Then to his horror, a head loomed in, and this is the scary part,

HIS HEAD WAS BITTEN OFF!

and I'm afraid to say the rest of him followed.

I love mustaches

Today was great!!!!
You know in those random sorts of ways when you invite some friends round, film some very funny and extremly pointless movies (about science-fiction superheroes) and then spend the rest of the time mucking about.
It was loads of fun, and it showed me that life isn't just one big battle where you have to soldier on every day. It's a battle all right but there's some breaks. Thank goodness.
And tomorrow we're planning to write a song. Hahaha! I don't see what's so funny, but yeah.
It remains to be seen if we'll actually do it, even if we are prepared. Sometimes plans go wrong....
I'm smiling.

Jordan
Ps. I love mustaches. Is that how you spell it?
Time to turn the spell checker on I see.

I like tomorrows

....................Cos they give you a chance to start again.

I do not belong

Actually that's a song by Kutless which by the way I'm SO EXCITED THAT THEY"RE GOING TO PARACHUTE!!!!
I was seriously bouncing off the walls when I heard the news.
Anyway to cut it short I havn't had the greatest weekend. I've been feeling like I'm misunderstood, and I don't really fit into the world very well.
Then again that's a good thing. After all I don't belong here. But while I am I want to do something. Life is for living, that's what I always say. Sometimes I don't feel like I live up to my own standards though. It's funny how you can tell someone something a million times, but when it comes to actually doing it yourself when you're in the same position, now that's the hard thing.
And to top it all off I REALLY want to write a song but the music isn't flowing. I just want to drown myself in noise.
Ok I'm starting to sound melancholy here. Sorry. I want to make a difference here, that's kinda why I started Mayday so I could reach people with our music. So far it's not really happening. =(
We've just got to keep moving on. If this is God's purpose he'll work it out.
I feel like Calvin at the moment. You know from that little kids comic. He's having a bad day and someone tells him "If life throws you lemons, make lemonade". He replies "If life throws you lemons, throw them back with a few more of your own."

Eskimos are sooooo tasty

What does that word remind you of. Snow?
Well, not to me, suprisingly. I'm talking about these mint az eskimos they sell at te supermarket. The nice chewy ones.

Okay this ones slightly disfigured but-!!!!!! Yeah, they are so nice and tasty, and really really cool. Especially the green ones. Even of they are slightly disfigured. Mmm..... Nate

Our 100th blog!

Oh gosh this is a day to remember! Man, we're cool. Notice I wrote the 50th blog & the 100th? Oh well, I guess I'll take all the honour. ^_^ Anyway, Jords as at Youth Group so it doesn't matter either!
Nate

Parachute rocks!

oh yes it does so much. i'm really looking forward to Parachute 09! 8-0! gosh its going to be amazing!

ID Test

Time to check if you're alright with my cool ID Test! hehe 8-)

1. Say what colour these words are without any mistakes:
Blue
Red
Yellow

Green

Haha I bet that was hard. It was writing it.

2. If you saw an alien, you would:

a. Blow it up
b. Phone the Dannevirke News
c. Tell the alien that there wasn't any fancy dress party on that you knew of

If you got an:
a. you're always prepared.
b. you're proud or just want to be famous.
c. you're someone who doesn't believe such ridiculous things!

Unfortunately that's the end of my cool test. If you suck at it, don't take it seriously.
Nate

Not Ashamed

Not ashamed of the Jesus
Not ashamed of the gospel
Not ashamed to live it!
Nate

All at once

Yes, this would make a really cool song name.
Sometimes everything happens at once. You feel exhausted after its over. You wouldn't believe how many times the phrase All at once appears in books. Its a logic phrase that means a lot.
So when everything happens at once, what do you focus on?
The first one that catches your eye? The loudest one? I'm thinking of blowing up here. (Well that's the type of books that I read the most, I guess!)
Anyway, what the point here is that when everything happens at once, you just have to relax and wait for it to all finish with the best of your patience.
And that's about it.
Nate

Smile

Smiling is really fun. It makes you feel happy. If you smile then you're in a good mood. Obviously. The only way to smile is when you truly feel like it. When you smile, you look like a better person.

Wishes And Dreams

Wishes and dreams are something you want to have but can't always get. You can't see them except with your imagination. They're not always what you want them to be. But wishes and dreams are two of the most important things in a lifetime.

I'm watching you from a scenic view.. Taking in you every move.. Who you tried so hard to be.. Full of wishes and dreams.. That did not come true for you.. I can read you like a book..Sad stories everywhere I look..Faded pictures remind you when what could of been.. Did not come true for you.. Did not come true for you.. I'll be the one who makes you laugh.. Make up for the memories that made you sad.. Me and you together.. Forever we could be.. Someday you will find me.. In all your wishes and dreams..Is it so hard to believe..What your eyes cannot see.. Your dream come true.. A love to fall into.. I'm waiting to show you. I'm waiting to show you.

Nate

Oh man I'm exited! 8-0

Ooh ooh! Guess what! They announced on Life FM today which main bands are going to Parachute! I was awake at 5:40 in the morning.Mum and Dad were taking the little kids to Wellington so it was just me, Beka, Dan, and Jords at home.
Guess whose coming!?
CASTING CROWNS & KUTLESS! (:-0) ((WOW!!))
Yes it's true. Its going to be seriously awesome!!!!!!!!!!! I hope I can go for the whole weekend! Last year the one day that I went when Switchfoot were on Mainstage was the best day ever! The only thing annoying is that Stellar Kart aren't going! Or The Lads. Or Hawk Nelson. But they still might come, hopefully. Oh that would be so cool.
So this afternoon before my drum lesson, we headed off downtown to celebrate.
Beka brought a red helium balloon for some pictures. The lady who sold it to her told us not to suck the helium out because it was dangerous. We told her it was for some pictures. I mean, what kind of idiot would suck helium out of a balloon? Some stupid one. Anyway, I took heaps of pictures of her:
They look really good apparently. We also took some of us with Jordan's mustaches. Man it was fun.

So yeah, I can't wait until Parachute 09!

Cya 4 now, Nate

Daughtry

If you haven't heard of Daughtry then you must live under a rock.
Their songs are all over radio, and not just Life Fm either. And apparently they were the band which sold the most cds of anyone last year.
And I've been going on about that very catchy song of theirs for ages to. So heres the words:
Feels Like Tonight

You, you got me thinking it would be alright/ You, you told me come and take a look inside/You believe me and every single lie/ But I, I failed you this time

And it feels like tonight/ I can't believe I'm broken inside/ Can't you see that there's nothing that I wanna do/ But try to make it up to you/ And it feels like tonight, tonight

I was waiting for the day you'd come around/ I was chasing but nothing was all I found/ From the moment you came into my life/ You showed me whats right

I never felt like this before/ Just when I leave I'm back for more/ Nothing else here seems to matter/ In these ever changing days/ You're the one thing that remains/ I could stay like this forever

Mint aye?

Anyway it's late now so I better go.

Jordan

I'm excited

I'm so excited because tomorrow we're going to get up really early.
No we're not going on another photoshoot. We're getting up early because we HAVE to listen to the Morning Wakeup on Life Fm.
Now Life Fm is a pretty mint radio station, but usually we're not as fanatic as that about listening to it.
The reason we're doing such a crazy thing is because tomorrow, on Life Fm they are (daDada DA da DAAAAA! My impression of a drumroll haha Nate would be better at that............... anyway)
They're anouncing the bands who are coming to Parachute '09!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We went to Parachute this year and it was just so amazing even though we only went for a day.
Heat, crowds, awesome music, shopping, Parachute had it all. We loved it. Me, N8, Dan and Beka that is. But anyway, I'm planning on going for the whole weekend this time. So I can't wait to find out which bands are going. This year, Switchfoot went and they were just AWESOME!!!
The most tight band I've ever seen. It was basicly my introduction to them and they had the meanest live show. It was an amazing night.
Anyway, so I can't wait to find out who's coming next year.
Bring on tomorrow!!

Jordan

I'm bored

Oh well at least writing my blog will give me something to do.
So we did band practice as usual today which was the same as normal: All sounding good. As it should be cos we've been practicing 6 days a week.
Well the important thing was I made up this mean as opening for me and Daniel to play in the start of My Best Side, which is a song we're meaning to write one of these days.
Nate said he wanted to buy a cymbal this morning. Probably fom seeing all those ones in the music shop the other day. Though personly I reckon one cymbal is enough but oh well.
Man if I had the money I'd probably buy the whole shop.
But I don't.
Oh well-gotta go.

A Random Conversation (Jordan's idea for a title)

Right now Nate is obsessed with this song called Four letter Lie by False Starte.
False Starte? Its False Start buddy. Anyway, it's a really cool song.
The bannds pretty dodgy though aye. I like Daughtry's Feels Like Tonight way better.
And what's a bannds aye?
I meant bands you can't spell properly on this stupid laptop. I wish our other one was fixed.
Well you're spellings pretty shocking today.
So? Whats new! Luckily I have a spellchecker! Mwhaha! Anyway enough about my spelling ok?
Cookie.
What's that got to do with it? Man you're random. Anyway, we're supposed to be talking about our band not cookies. Dah.
And why are we supposed to be talking about our band?
Because this is our band's website!!!
So what? I'm sure our readers would like something new every now and then.
True true. So I'll tell everyone about the mean cd I got today from Buzz. You won't believe what it is!
Let me guess. Daughtry!? Anyway, its mine as well.
It's just the meanest! I finally can listen to Feels Like Tonight over and over and OVER again.
Not as cool as Four Letter Lie!
You are so crazy about that song you recorded it off Life Fm!
Hey! That's my bit! You see I was tinny yesterday. I wanted to hear that song Four Letter Lie, so I turned on Life FM and it came on! Cool aye. So I grabbed my mp3 and recorded the chorus! (which is the best part)! And it was 29 seconds. I listened to it over and over again today, from Dannevirke to Palmeston North. Then I heard it on Jordan's mp3 which can pick up Life FM in Palmeston! It was so cool! Uh - yeah. Your turn now.
Thank you. I knew you were obsessed with that song! And anyway you were listening to LifeFm on MY mp3!!!!!!!
Mm yum.
WHAT??????????!!!! Are you high on something?
Yeah, coke.
Thats a Four letter lie HAHAHAHAHA get it?
I was joking about the coke, sadly. Anyway that is such a sad joke.
It's funny!
Its as funny as a..................................... It's not funny.
Hmphh you're just jelous I reckon. By the way we went to the music shop in Palmy again today. Man I so want that acoustic V-wing guitar it's just so cool!
Haha - jelous! You need spelling lessons. Anyway, the cymbals and drum kits were cooler.
Are you kidding? A V-wing acoustic looks and sounds way better than a cymbal which is just basicly a bit of metal!
I hope Daryl read that! Anyway, you can't beat a Sabian Crash or Ride cymbal! Not ever.
Yeah right.
Don't listen to him!
Ok lets stop arguing about which is better cos We'll be here all night and I'll never convince you that guitar is better than drums anyway. As my friend Jacob R. says, We're both right in our own way.
Okay but you're wrong. If only you knew the truth! How sad. =0
Get over it you're never going to convince me otherwis. Oh hang on-Alby calls. I've got a txt!
Otherwis?
Will you shut up about my spelling? This is getting very boring!
I'll say. Should we stop or not?
I reckon so I want to read the words for Ground Zeros new song written by William on his blogspot
Has he got them on?
Yup! That's what the txt from Alby my phone was about.
Okay lets go read them! Seeya, Nate
Jords Ps Actually he said they're not. =(
Well that's just weird. Whatever. Seeya till next time -

What a day

My mum is just great.
It's funny how you don't appreciate people until they're gone, and then you go "Oh man life is so much easier when they're here!"
Luckily she's coming back tomorrow cos I almost lost it tonight.
Anyway, I was luckily saved by a couple of things 1) God 2) Stellar Kart and 3) this really cool band which my mate Chris told me about called Kutless. Honestly I wouldn't have made it through the day without all of that. I listened to the Kutless cd while I did my maths and it was just great. Really. It was awesome to find a band who can be so noisy and heavy, but when they slow down, get into their quieter songs, it's then when you really get into them. I just love their song Guiding me Home.
There are times when I stumble and I'm up against a wall/I can't walk through this life on my own/Holding ontonothing and searching for more/I don't need anything else in this world

You say tht you love me/ Always and forever/ You say that you love me/ I know I will never/ Deserve all the love that you show/It's the light that is guiding me home

I feel stronger in your presence and safe in your hands/Even though I'm oceans away/I'll take the life that you've given me and I'll live it again/ It's grace that defines who I am

I'm finding my way back to your shores/With saftey and shelter from the storms/ I know that you're guiding me through storms/ It's here that you're waiting for me/With another chance to......

Yeah so that was great. But then I couldn't go to bible study =( so I got a bit mad but luckily Nate showed a mean as version of Livin' on a Prayer by Stellar Kart. Man they are mean they so know how to stage a show.
So I'm all good now. I'm just holding on on/ holding on / RUN/ Life is going on, all around you.........
Oh I wish I could look that song up to. But it's to late.

Oh well.
Goodnight

Our music is being heard!

We've had quite a day today.
First thing this morning we were bored, or I was anyway, so we decided to do band practice. It's been hard work putting the drums in and Dan adjusting to the keyboard, but it's finally starting to pay off. We've basicly got two songs sorted and they're sounding really good. On Thursday we had guitar and drum lessons with our cool teacher, Daryll from Mana3, but we had hatched a crafty plot.
So when Daryll came in he found us ripping into Make up Your Mind. We've been meaning to show him our band for ages but never got around to actually asking him.
When we finally noticed him we kinda sorta stopped but he thought it was pretty good so we ended up doing an hour with our band rather than lessons. And it was really cool. He had loads of good ideas and I found out (much to my surprise) that a song dosn't have to be fast to be rocky.
As it turned out, somehing was kind of wrong. The song changed timing like about 5 times and apparently that dosn't sit well with audiences who like just the same time through the whole song. I have to admit it did get slightly confusing with all those changes.
So the next day (Friday) we fixed it up and it was kinda tricky but it was all sounding MUCH better today! Honestly it sounds much better than it originally did. So thanks Daryll. Your help was much appreciated.
Anyway, onto further news we, me and N8 that is, put the drums into Kiwi on My Wall which by the way is probably the most pointless song in history, but hey it's kinda funky (dare I use that terrible word!) and sounds pretty cool.
Today was also a bit sad cos Mum and Beka packed off and went South. Ok they're only there for four days but yeah. It's still kinda hard cos me n8 and Dad have to look after everyone. Not that I'm complaining aye.
Oh and something funny happened today as well. I was taking some stuff over to the neighbours and they told me if I'd ask Nate to not play the drums before 9 'o clock on a Saturday morning!!!!!!!! I almost cracked up laughing. We're in trouble! Na we'll be fine as long as Nathan dosn't get an urge to play the drums at 6:30 am!
Well now I know that our music is beng heard in some small way. Or at least the drums are anyway. =)

Alby (my mean phone!)

This is my phone Alby. It is seriously the meanest phone. Much better than my last one. Well, lets not say better lets say more efficient. And the other thing I love about it is it's camera. Honestly it's got like a really mint camera on it for a phone. I kinda feel like Beka running round with her camera snapping pictures sometimes. It's pretty mint. I used it on the ski trip the other day, even though I didn't take it up the mountain. Kinda stupid aye, but if you think about how many times I fell over maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to leave it in the van.
I also used it the other day to take pictures of Beka taking pictures of us on our early-morning photoshoots. It was good fun.

Ah I can see why Beka wants to be a photographer sometimes.

Jaws

"The Cap!"

Since Jords said mainly everything about skiing, I won't talk about that for too long.
I got sunburnt, by the way. It actually made my face a bit more tanned than it already is though! And the other thing is, I had heaps of fun. Probably the funniest part was when we all went down together. At a steep bit, Jords, Dan, and Beka all fell over in synchronisation. I whizzed past them all, laughing. It did look funny from where I was! =) So then Jords tried to put me off and make me crash by poking me with his ski pole as I went past. It didn't work. 8)

The other exiting thing, is that i got this cool as cap from the Warehouse for $2-97! It's one of those drummer caps. The square ones. (And it wasn't a low-budget one. No, I'm wearing it right now. It was on special. It probably actually cost around $30-00. Hehe....)

Mint az, aye? I really love it. It's the coolest cap ever!

Nate

Skiing part 2

...............Nate and Dan went back up the mountain while I rested my leg. It sure did need it aye?
Then when they got back up we all went down again. And this time I didn't fall over!!! I was quite excited about this. I was finally getting the hang of it.
All the people there were nice and friendly. Well, everyone except that snowboarder who skidded in front of me on purpose and made me fall over. The people who operated the ski lifts and stuff where really cool. One of them had a club which I think was used for patting down snow and someone asked him what it was for and he said that it was to bash anyone who annoyed him!

Anyway we went down the mountains a few more times before I decided I would try my hand at the jumps. So off we went up the T-bar pommel thing, and at the end you skiied off down, and there was the first jump. It was basically just a slanted ramp of packed snow with a half-pipe in the middle. I sped up it and off the other side, and to my great surprise managed to land half-decently and didn't even fall over. I chickened out on the second jump though (which was a big hill with a ramp of snow up the middle) and skiied straight back down to the bottom. I did this again before I got up courage to jump the second.
And much to my surprise, I didn't crash on that one either, and managed to land on the other side of the hill, whizzing down at top speed onto what was a mini jump on the same hill. I was going to fast though, and swerved round the last jump.

The next time I did all three, and it was awesome. Eventually we decided though that we'd have one last turn, then head to the bottom. My one would have been fine except this snowboarder went at the same time of me so we both were kind of racing each other. My first jump was fine but the second I took to fast so got way to high and crashed but somehow or other I managed to still be sliding down on my skiis, so I stood up and by then the third jump loomed with no way to slow down so I got some serious air, but my landing wasn't so great so I crashed and stayed down. =( Skills

The others came along and we skiied all the way down the mountain. It was swell. Then at the bottom the lifts were still going so we decided there was just enough time for one more time down. So up we went again, and I had to say it was a great way to end the day. None of us crashed (or maybe only Beka did) and our muscles weren't on fire, and it was just us and the slope and the great mountain air. And I skidded to a halt perfectly at the end to which is much more than can be said of the time when me and Nate were "racing" ( I couldn't stop myself and crashed straight into this guy; I was so embarrassed but luckily he was one of those nice fella's and gave me a hand up.

So after we got all our gear we headed back to the carpark, and the people we were with

launched into a massive snowball fight while I took some more pics with my camera. (this one was in the morning actually but yeah.) Beka had forgotten to bring spare socks which was kind of stupid so she had to wear bare feet and she's putting her hood up cos someone just creamed her with a snowball. Nice one.
Then we finally set off at last, and I took a final picture of Mt Ruapahu. Man it was a great day. My legs were sore, I was tired as, and the boys had sunburn, but so? We had a mean day!

Skiing! Part 1

Wow we the meanest ever time yesterday!
I find it pretty cool that we got to go skiing twice a year. It really is such a great thing to do.
We started the day by waking up at quarter to 5, and finally our ride came. This time we were going to a different slope, last time we went to Whakapapa, but this time we were going to Turoa, the side of the mountain closest to us.
We got up to the carpark and got our ski tickets, and set off.

That's what it looked like from the carpark. But I left my phone in the bag so I didn't get anymore pictures! I was to busy skiing!
After trying a really easy slope, we went up on the first ride-which was called parklane. The skilift line wan't crowded at all. But no wonder, cos the ride took 12 minutes and the ride down three and a half minutes minimum. And that's if you didn't crash. Which we did. Most of the time. It was WAY harder than Happy Valley.
It was loads of fun though. The first time we really sucked and I fell over four times, before figuring out that you couldn't pelt down the mountain at full speed cos you wouldn't be able to stop really quickly so you'd either
a) Go crashing down through everyone and fall off a cliff or into a frozen lake. Or
b) Fall over and break your leg. (or at least hurt yourself.)

So what you had to do was do big zig-zags which slowed you down. Like all the pro skiiers you see on tv.

After doing that a couple of times, we had lunch then did it once more again. Then me and Nate set off on our big adventure.

There was this other big chairlift called the Movenpick which we decided we'd try out. The ride up there took SO long, honestly we were on that silly chairlift for at least twenty minutes. And when we finally got to the top, we relized (to late unfortunatly) that we'd bitten off more than we could chew.

I won't go into details otherwise I'll be writing my blog all night long, but lets just say I crashed quite a couple of times befor we got to the bottom. We were up there for about 3/4 of an hour. At least half of that I spent sprawled on the ground. I had a majorly big crash and really hurt my leg. Then I got suck halfway up the mountainside. Meanwhile Nate was waiting for me patiently as usual. Man you have to hand it to him, he was an ace skiier.

We finally made it to the bottom safe though. Then we went back up the other one. Me and Nate decided to race (bad idea!)
I crashed again and really hurt my leg. The same one to! Grrrrr!
So Nate was up like "oh man he's crashed again.' And I was thinking 'Ow my leg! The snow looks really cool when you're lying face down in it!'
Luckily someone got my sunglasses for me and N8 took off. I followed off behind much more slowly and we met up with Dan and Beka down the bottom..............
[to be continued.....]

I'm really excited!!!!

I'm so excited!
We're going skiing tomorrow and it's going to be so much fun!
Oh yes indeed I can't wait it will be awesome.
I just love snow. It's quite amazing how a bunch of ice particles on a slope is so much fun to slide down on long flat bits of wood.
Putting it in perspective dosn't make it sound that great really.
Also I've had a brainy idea. I've got a pen and some paper packed and ready in my bag so if I get any suddn inspiratonns on the way back home, I'll have something to write them on.
Sheer genius. It pays to be prepared.
I just reckon it's awesome we get to go skiing twice in the same year. Oh we don't know how luck we are. I'm serious. We don't. In Africa they don't have ski fields (or at least not as far as I know) and any way if they did not many people would be able to go there cos it would cost to much.
In the midst of us having fun and stuff let us try to spare a thought[or two] for those who don't have what we do.

Procrastinating

So here I am It's 3 am/I don't know where to begin/ Times running out and there's no doubt/ That I feel like throwing in the towel/ With no way I can get this start finished
I try and try and wonder why the answers never come/ Cause this is it I'm tired and sick of all this coming undone/ I've tried it all but there's still something missing

So I'm a day late/ At least a buck short/I've got no chance to make it on my own/ I don't have it made/ I'm nowhere near the shade/Will you step in this life and take control

Show me the way I know that slow and steady wins the race/But slow to me cause I can't see is like a lightning pace/And all I get is nowhere constantly waiting
Are you still there and do you care about what I'm feeling now/ I'd like to see who I can be without this holding me down/ But I'm to scared of taking this chance and failing

I'm always waiting/ Procrastinating/I feel so useless on my own/ You're always waiting/ Just in time to save me/ I'm not so uselss I'm not alone

So here I am/ It's 3 am/ No better time to begin
[Stellar Kart]

I really love this song, Maybe it's because I procrastinate so much.

I'm feeling really lazy

I am. I don't know why but I'm really quite tired and don't feel much like doing stuff. Even though i didn't wake up at 6:00 this morning. I woke up 45 minutes later. Anyway I'd write about the photoshoots we've been on but I can't for two simple reasons
1) Our computer isn't working so I'm having to write it from a laptop
2) Bek hasn't even loaded the photos on anywya so that's kind of hard to to do if you don't have any photos on it.
So yes. I'm sure I'll get around to it someday.

My new song!!!!

Exciting news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've finished my new song I Wish You Were Here (accoustic). And it sounds really cool!
Better than my last accoustic song (Don't Wait to Long) at any rate.
Here's the lyrics

I WISH YOU WERE HERE
(this song was written in remembrance of Thomas Raffaelli, Bethany Leung-Wai and Levi Grant)

I'm writing a letter/ That I wish I could send to you/But it wouldn't make me feel better/ Cause it would never get through

And I know you're gone tonight/ But I still see you in this life

And I know for you/ There's nothing I can do/I never even really knew you/ But I still feel the pain/ And start wishing again/ Wishing this never happened

And I wish you were here/Yeah, I wish you were here

I know you don't know/The pain we're going through/And why did you have to go/ I guess I'll never know/ Why it was you

And sometimes you have to/ Sing it like it is/ But I know that there's/ More to life than this

And the sky is filled with tears/ (I wish you were here)/ I know you're somewhere out there/ But I wish you were here

Yes, it's one of those sad songs. I thought it was high time I wrote one of them, seeing as I have had this happen to me, and I thought I might bring my thoughts into a song.

The Day is Best When You Wake up at 6 am

Ah we did have a good day today!!!! I think the days always better when you get up earlier. Well, for example when we went skiing we woke at half pat three, so by 9' o clock it felt like lunchtime. There's more time to get stuff done too. It's great. Really it is.
Oh guess what? I have exciting news. I have begun to write another guitar song! I was getting sick of waiting for Nate and Dan to buck up and help me with one so at half past 8 tonight I just went into my room, picked up my guitar, and away I went. The guitar sounds awesome!!!! Or so I think. Ok the tune dosn't sound that great, but I can always get someone else to work on that. { Mwhaha!!! }
So yes. It was quite good. Maybe I should do that all the time. Better than having to wait for someone else.
Actually, being the lead singer and keyboardist in our band, Daniel should be the one writing all the songs. But he hasn't showed a great intrest yet, which to be perfectly honest I'm almost pleased of. Because I love writing lyrics.
So I'm chuffed about that. Me and Dan might put music to one tomorrow too. So yeah. Hopefully Mayday will have a few new singles out soon!

Alive

Well I'm glad to be alive. I bet every one is happy to be alive. When you're alive you can do almost anything that's possible. For instance, changing the font all the time.

Freedom

Everyone's free. They just have to choose to be. You can't be free if there's something or someone in your path. To be free, you have to be able to believe that you can be free.
Almost everyone has the chance to run, jump, or walk, or just sit down and talk with someone. If you want to be free, but you can't, you have to forget what's on your mind and think of happy things. Like grape juice. Or heaven.

Life at 6 00

Wow, the day is so much cooler when you wake up at 6 00! Me and Jords and Dan went on a photoshoot at 6 00 today, but the photos haven't loaded so I'll leave that for now.
Today was pretty weird, cause me and Jords had no guitar and drum lessons. And also soccer practice wasn't on. So all I did really was play the drums for two hours, text William, do band practice, and make truffles.
Me and Dan and Jords and Beka made a New's Years Resolution, (so what if its not the beginning of the year) for summer. One day we'll get up at 5 00 when its light and lie in the middle of High Street. This sounds dangerous, but we'll have two watchers for cars on each side. One person can take the picture, and the other person can lie in the middle of the road. Sounds fun, aye?
Oh it was scary as. On our photoshoot this morning, a green car almost ran us over.Yes. we were standing on the edge of High Street, waiting patiently to cross, when a car skidded round the corner. Its back end slid around on the wet road (obviously it was showing off) and missed us by about a metre! Ooh yes, it was quite scary.
So we had a great time this morning. Although everyone kept looking at us strangely....... Don't ask me why.

Music (and Mp3s)

My left ear has been blocked all day. And I've had a running nose. But my list of ailments aside, I'm perfectly fine.

So I've spent most of my day making a helmet for William. I finally finished it and it looks really cool. Except for the fact that it's cramped inside there. And it has to many moving parts. I could dismantle it into a rounded bit of metal without to much trouble.

But anyway enough about the helmet. I also spent quite a lot of time listening to my mp3. Man I just love music! Honestly I reckon it's one of the seven wonders of the world. And if not, well it should be. It is on my list at any rate.

I just get so inspired when I listen to those bands aye? Like sometimes I can turn my mp3 on and get so lost in the music that I start to imagine Mayday is a real famous band, rocking out on Parachute's Mainstage and the crowd is moshing hardcore and someone is crowd-surfing and my eltric guitar is so loud and distorted and the lights are shining down and we've got an E.P out and it's all going sweet. Then before I know it the songs finished.

See that's what music does to me.

So I can't wait to hear Williams new song. =) [vist his Ground Zero blog for more info]

Yes so that's what I did today.

Oh, and I lay on the middle of our road like a starfish too. It was really comfortable, surprisingly, and quite a cool perspective on things.

Helpfullness

Well, guess what?
I'm a paper run boy. So is Nate and Daniel. And that's just a random job because most of the days it sucks. The problem is usually the weather. Some days it's so terrible you just want to curl up by the fire and read a book except you have Harvey Norman pamphlets to deliver. =(
So today the weather wasn't bad but it still sucked. I crashed on my bike on by the school and got pamplets all ove the road. There wasn't a single one left in my box. Just as well there was no wind. And that it was 7.00 in the morning so not many cars where around.
But at the time it was still annoying.
Then these lovely people came and asked me if I needed a hand which was really nice cause I was just thinking 'I wish someone would come around and give me a hand!' It was really awesome. I'm glad some people in the world still help those who need it.

Bother bother...

Oh it sucked - I went to buy a drum key (that could tune my drums when they needed it) at ET's this afternoon, but hey they didn't have any. That was annoying as. I'm going to look for one on TradeMe
Goodebye.
Me - (nate)

I'm scared of denting my guitar

That's it. The utter truth about it. Please don't use this against me. I just hate my guitars being bumped.

Disclaimer

I have to make a few apoligies here. For our music video that is. I don't know if you've seen it yet.
First: We actually filmed it on our snap -and -share camera which shuts down after 5 minutes so that's why it's slightly blurry and the audio is terrible. Sorry. We sound better in real life. Or at least I hope we do.
Second: That's only the second time we've filmed ourselves and as we havn't had any concerts (unless ones in our sitting room for our parents count), so we havn't really been practicing our rock moves.
Thirdly: Daniel dosn't have any amplification at all so he had to almost scream to be heard over the noise of my guitar. Some people (no names mentioned) have said he's tone-deaf, but that could be the reason why. Either that or he is tone deaf. I'm hoping my theroy is right.
[Note: Dan I do think you do have a good voice but you did say your chest hurt that day or something like that and you did practicly have to shout. Hope u arn't insulted]
Fourthly: Daniels pants. Some things in life can't be excused. Sorry about that. We'll be having words with our singer.
[Daniel sys that all his other ones had holes in but actually not all of them did; he forgot his jeans =) ]
Yeah, but we knew, despite the silly mistakes, we had to publish it as a momento of Nate's last day on the keboard.
Ah yes. He really was good at it.

So that's all. Excuses aside, have a listen and see what you think. Personaly I'm quite stoked that it actually got onto our blog. And we did end it in style.

Hey

Whop de do we've got our drumkit now and we've been going on about it for absolutly ages, and I'm sure someone is going to be fed to the teeth with it soon. (Well maybe not, but I just wanted to use that phrase hehe )
Well, what else have we been up to? Oh the other day I finally found a decent song title for that song which I started on the ski trip and finished on Josh's birthday. You wouldn't believe how long it took me to think of that song title. Nothing fitted. Not even one of the random titles Beka had written for me in January. (One of which was Blue & White Becomes Pink and Green When I'm Wearing my Rose coloured Spectacles. I have to write that one day)
Eventually I settled on Collisions, Decisions and Other Things
Cool aye?
Anyway I have to go and help out now, so I'll have to stop.
And all I talked about was one song title.
Moral 4 today (copying Mum hehe): You can rabbit on about the most pointless things and leave out the deep and meaningfull stuff quite easily.
Like the fact that it's father's day.
So this post is dedicated to my dad who rocks town.

Almost a week ago.......

Yes, almost a week ago....... Now you say, a week ago from what? And I say, A week ago from,
blah blah blah," or whatever I wanted to say. But no, not this time.
Actually it was 5 days ago. No, that was when I got the drum kit! Oh yes - a week ago indeed! (hi-five nate)
A week ago.... Friday. Now I remember. Yes. My last day as keyboardist for our band. I guess I could of done this page a week ago, but I didn't. Because I got caught up with my drum kit again, and couldn't tear myself away from it.
Okay, I've already said enough about my drum kit. I bet you're probably sick of it, too, but its quite exciting to me. I know you probably can't see any logic in that random phrase, but.......
Okay, sorry, but I'm in one of those moods. The ones when...... No. I'm not talking about what mood I'm in or what mood I'm not in, or what mood I want to be in or what mood I don't want to be in, or-
Back to the subject, yes, back to the subject.
Friday,,,,,,, yes, it does ring a bell. As I explained before, my last day as keyboardist for our band. So, we decided to snap a couple of shots while we were at it, so here's my final moment:Actually, that was all by fluke. You see, Jordan clicked the button to take the picture, but I lost it and cracked up laughing for no apparent reason. So I told him to not take the picture yet, but of course he'd clicked the button. And so as I moved away to avoid a cheesy picture, the camera took the photo. And it fitted the occasion just perfectly. So anyway, here's me posing, or my idea of posing: Not bad, huh? Now look at Dan's idea of posing!Anddddd, this is Jordan's idea of Daniel's pose: (and it seriously was)

And that's about it for now

Nate

P.S. Have you checked out our mean music video? The ends the best. It's on the page titled, "Break this Silence."

Some Random comments

Sooooo....
We've been up to heaps lately. Band practice everyday! Yeah! Man am I happy about that! Hehe, I do rattle on about that.
And Daryll taught Nate a beat for one of our songs today as well whih was good, cos that's quite an easy song and we've already got most of it sorted. The other day Daryll came round and fixed them up. Apparently we had the cymbal up the wrong way, and one of the tom-toms upside down. Or something like that. I don't really know much about drums. So it sounds a lot better now.
Oh where would we be without Daryll????
We wouldn't have got very far, that's for sure.
Anyway, today we also did ummm....soccer practice. And not much else. I usually spend my days like that.
Me and Beka have also been planning our world trip. Just me and Beka. Not the band. Though that would be a good idea. A world tour.........
I think we bettter have at least one concert first. =)

A Piece of Art from Tempo Dixon

Well, according to Jords, my drums are "too loud." But to me, they are seriously amazing. I was away today in Palmy when Darryl came and spent a whole hour tuning them and making them sound way better.
When I got home, and started playing them, it was amazing how much they'd changed. I spent an hour just playing away. They were so much better to play. (thanks Darryl!) And they sounded great. I reckon we got a pretty good bargain. Here they are. What I've been talking about having for half a year. It's my dream come true.........

It's beautiful, isn't it? Green really suits the drums. But then, so does blue. And black. And silver could look cool........

That's about it for now,

Nate

Break this Silence

BREAK THIS SILENCE

V1 Its like nobody hears/As slowly the seconds turn into years

V2 And you're afraid to speak out/Cos you've been living without/

Any sound

Pc No noise here/No noise here

Chorus Break this silence/ It's been going on/

Break this Silence/ It's continuing on

V3 And we wonder why/ All off this noise is just passing you by

V3 And it's been too many years/ And now it's time for you to

Start to hear

Bridge Don't try to fake it/ You're going to make it

Don't try to fake it/ You're going to make it/ Out of here

Noise

Well I think that it's kind of noisy. Nate's drum kit that is. I have to turn my guitar WAY up so I can be heard. And the keyboard. Now that is practicly silent!!! Maybe I'm just too close to the drums. But personly, I reckon Nate plays them too hard. He says he dosn't play hard, he's playing real softly.
What a load of rubbish. How can something without an amp be so loud if you aren't whacking it hardcore?
It's silly.
And by the way, we can't hear Daniel either. It dosn't help that he's supposed to be our keyboardest now. We NEED that amp!
Either that or get N8 to play softly.

Exciting news!!!!!!!!!

Well,as you probably know, today was a Monday. But this one was different.
At 6 00, I woke up and started my work.
At 8 00 I had my breakfast.
At 9 00 I did more school work.
At 11 30 we went on the paper run.
At 1 00 I had lunch.
At 2 00 I waited.
At 3 00 I waited.
At 4 00 I waited.
At 4 30 my drums arrived!
Our Uncle brought them in his car from Fielding.
Okay, I was clueless about how to set it all up, but I managed, and in the end it looked suprisingly good! =0 Darryl's coming over tommorow to check it though. =) Luckily.
So the drum kit looked brand new, worth about $600.00! We got it for $350.00! =0
So that's it for today.
