i woke up this morning at 4:30 and i was like "WOW-tomorrows Parachute"
there isn't much else to say...
spent today getting ready, final band practice, packing, checking lists, driving, buying stuff......etc, etc
it's gonna be a great weekend!
my apologies to all who can't come.
i know you'll be praying for us.
and i really appreciate it.
so cya for the next four days Sharon, Peyton Rosslin Grace, Emrald, that girl who loves FF5...will try to remember as i mosh to them =), Sam, Suz2912, Rescuing-You, and Cathrine.

especially our show!!!
rapture ruckus are putting out a limited edition of an ep for parachute punters... ONLY at parachute!!! i'm going to get it first thing..
oh and its falling up's last show! EVER.... :( i find it pretty funny that they're having it in parachute rather than america since they're americans... also pretty cool cause as its their last show its goin' to be AWESOME..
its rapture ruckus' last show in nz as well (or at least for a while) cause they're moving to america... :(

Top NZ songs of 2009 (in my opinion)

Yeah, yeah, I know that it's been ages since New Years, etc, etc but I just got this great idea of putting down all the great Nz songs of 2009 in my opinion. Most of these actually haven't been all over radio but hey most of the best songs aren't =). Honestly the radio plays such rubbish music like Black Eyed Peas and Miley Cyrus. Come on guys! What happened to good old rock?
It's only thanks to a few good ballads by Green Day, Midnight Youth, One Republic and Owl City that I don't turn it off altogether.
Of course this is mostly talking mainstream radio - not Life Fm but we don't get that most of the time so I'm pretty beached.
Life Fm rocks my socks.
So does Parachute!
Here's my list:
1. Arms Reach: Stop Talking, Start Dancing
This actually got on c4! It was great! Then they disbanded.... =(
2. Mumsdollar: Lost at Sea
Ok technically this came out in 2008 - but they disbanded in the end of '09 so they deserve a good mention
3. Midnight Youth: All on Our Own & Golden Love
Pretty nicely crafted songs by a good rock band - except the first one almost got killed by the radio playing it so much!
4. Nathan King: Bury Me
Great song! Even though I never heard it on Mainstream unlike Never Too Late, this was a much better song. Have a listen if you haven't heard it yet!!!!
5. Rapture Ruckus: Hold On
This was played at P09 and the crowd loved it!! Best rap song ever. He took it with him all over Nz at the Parachute Roadshow, and everyone sooooo got into it! Truly rocking. Sweet as lyrics too.
6. Rapture Ruckus: The World in Your Hands
I'm not sure if this was it's name - but he played this one at the Roadshow too - and the whole crowd was singing along to it pretty much instantly.
7. Parachute Band: Come to the River
Sounds like Summer! And Parachute!
8. Sleeptalkers: Lonely Bones, Where the Sun Hides, & Weekend Never Dies.
All 3 songs from a 2009 Demos cd I bought after seeing this band only once.....good choice. All these songs are soooooo awesome!!! AND Sleeptalkers is comprised of two of our ex-favourtist Kiwi Bands - Smalltown Heroics and Arms Reach (and another band which I don't know off....)
9. Triggor Theory: As we Fall & A Soft Farewell
Listening to both these songs almost makes you wonder if they're the same band.... such a good range of hardcore rock and electronic pop. MEAN!
10. Evermore: Can You Hear Me?
Can't say I've ever heard this song on radio at all- I only heard it thanks to a music vid. Dad showed us. Nate liked the song so much he downloaded the ringtone! Great alternative rock music.
11. Mayday: Crash This Party
Good local music lol =)
Ok ok we probably don't deserve to be up there with all those awesome bands. =)

ground zero

yesterday @ 1 me and jords and william went to the church for ground zero (our other band) practice for the first time in like four months or something...
william just got a new electric guitar, so we jammed out hard. we even wrote a song!!! i've forgotten what we called it though...
it was pretty awesome... two electric guitars and drums... man it sounded rocky! we really need another guitarist for our band. (mayday)
so yeah it was awesome...
mayday practice is coming along really good too... we got another e-mail from parachute about artist breifings... etc...

turns out that ep we recorded was put onto a dvd instead of a cd and there's no way of converting it to a cd. =( me and Nate spent like forever today trying to figure it out. but we couldn't.
grrrrr.
very very annoying.
yep. but I got one track which I put on my Video Editor thing I got for Christmas.
it was going to be the first track off our e.p

roadtrip 2010!

all i can say was it was pretty epic....its summer!!!me and jords were trying to make a ghost, but it kinda failed...haha jords hat blew away when he was "posing"ooh ooh we did a message in a bottle! we threw it out to sea so many times... it kept coming back.... hopefully its out there somewhere..we went on a loooong walk and took pictures!! we had watermelon for lunch... haha jordan looks like a cereal killerit was insanely fun... especially when me and jords went surfing on a boogy-board (long story lol)

...and we had the best chips from porongahou EVER!!!!

Exciting adventures......

Today was great!
We roadtripped down to probably our favouritist beach in the world (not that we've been to all the ones in the world - but if we had this would probably still be the best of the lot =] I reckon).
It was great fun even though poor old Dan got left out of it cos he was sick.
So yeah I'll blog about it later once Beka's finished fiddling with her pictures - I find things a lot funner to hear about when you can see them as well...
Pretty keen to get our Parachute Set down..... there's only 15 days left till the Festival!!!!
Also we really need to get this ep out.....
It's hard to do all this while roadtripping!
3 lessons from our roadtrip:
1#. Don't try and surf with a boogieboard. You will fail.
2#. I forgot it. Sorry. It can't have been a very good lesson then....... =)
3#. Don't forget your guitar (I did...)

A few roadtripping rules:
1. Bring good music!
2. Don't fart in Beka's car. You will die.
3. Don't get grumpy for any reasons.

hello everyone.....
haven't been up to much at all lately.
were going to get some practice in today but the sitting-room was strewn with taken down Christmas decorations so there wasn't much room to move, let alone rock. =)
hopefully we'll get onto it tomorrow!

i'm keen to get these comments going. i know we have like about 9 people who follow our blog or something like that, and i know not all of them blog that much (apart from beka & mum - you guys are cool!) but yeh. we really love feedback. so in the new year, i'd like to know why you followed our blog? did you like the words? the pics? the song lyrics? we haven't really posted up much music yet - but that's kinda hard on blogging aye. sorry. we'll get to it.

i'm listening to some pretty good music @ the mo from a site called Indieheaven.com. Anyone a fan of Indie? this stuff's pretty cool aye.
you know i only just found out what indie actually is! some bands have a sound which they call indie but they're actually not cos they're signed up to a record deal. indie stands 4 independant.
kinda cool aye. owl city are a good description of indie. oh and playjerise.
i guess seeing as we're not signed up to anything (yet!) we count as indie! =)
