Comatose

This song is pretty much exactly what I feel like right now:
COMATOSE by Skillet
I hate feeling like this/I'm so tired of trying to fight this/I'm asleep and all I dream of/Is waking to You
Tell me that You will listen/You're touch is what I'm missing/And the more I hide I realize/ I'm slowly losing You
Comatose/ I'll never wake up without an/ overdose of You
I don't wanna live/ I dont wanna breathe/'Les I feel you next to me/You take the pain I feel/Waking up to You never felt so real/I don't wanna sleep/ I don't wanna dream/'Cause my dreams don't comfort me/The way You make me feel/Waking up to You never felt so real
I hate living without You/Dead wrong to ever doubt You/But my demons lay in waiting/Tempting me away
Oh how I adore You/Oh how I thirst for You/Oh how I need You
Comatose/I'll never wake up without/ an overdose/ of You
I don't wanna live/ I dont wanna breathe/'Les I feel you next to me/You take the pain I feel/Waking up to You never felt so real/I don't wanna sleep/ I don't wanna dream/'Cause my dreams don't comfort me/The way You make me feel/Waking up to You never felt so real
Breathing life/Waking up/My eyes open up
Comatose/I'll never wake up without/ an overdose/ of You
I don't wanna live/ I dont wanna breathe/'Les I feel you next to me/You take the pain I feel/Waking up to You never felt so real/I don't wanna sleep/ I don't wanna dream/'Cause my dreams don't comfort me/The way You make me feel/Waking up to You never felt so real

Direction

Directions.
Which way to go?
I really need a roadmap or something.......
I'm so confused right now.
Life seems to be going nowhere. Not much is happening, and I feel incomplete kind of. Like I should be doing something, but I don't know what it is.
I've only got one life, and it's not that long. I shouldn't be wasting it, but right now it feels like I am.
One question which has been spinning round my head is "What should I be doing with my life?" I'm getting older now, so I should spend at least a few minutes thinking of my possible career.
But nothing seems to fit.
Sure, I love music, but I hate the theory side of it, which rules out any option of getting a music degree. And I can't seem to think of any job I'd like to do.
It's scary.
I've been looking around for a new guitar and am going to check a few out from some guy next Tuesday. If none of them suit I'll probably end up going for the Cort, cos heaps of reviews say it's a mean guitar.
It's such a hard choice!!!!!!!!!
On the positive side of things, we got our recording from Jason today so we can start entering those competition's, and putting up music on our blog!
Sweet!

the unavoidable battle of feeling on the outside....

i just thought of this song by fm static with a real long name:
it just suddenly flew around my head, so i looked up the lyrics:
.
It’s hard to fit in
When you’re on the outside
Feels like someone’s getting to my head
Was it something I did
or just something I said?
I’m not an idiot
but I feel like one a lot
‘Cause every time I try I end up here
Right where I started
just feeling unguarded
I don’t care if it comes out perfect
As long as I can spit it out
.
Then He said
Take your time,
take what you need to,
Peace of mind,
should never leave you,
You’ll be fine,
just let them see you,
On The Inside
Hurt takes time,
don’t be afraid of,
What you got,
show them what ya made of,
You will find,
it’s gonna be alright
.
i hate feeling left out. i hate leaving others out too.
if everyone cared about each other that would never happen....
but they don't and it does....
everyone smile!

Guitar wanted

Hey peoples!
Not much has been up band wise, but then I guess that's a little bit tough now I have no guitar but not to worry I've found two real nice ones on Trademe and pretty much have determined that I'm going to buy one of them. It's way harder getting your second eletric guitar, because as well as wanting something which looks reasonably cool and rocking, you also want something which has a great tone, etc. And also I'm trying to find something a bit different-looking than my broken, red, typical Fender-Strat-lookin' guitar. So it's a bit of a challenge.
We really need to have a concert too we'll go all rusty at this rate. =)
Flick us a comment if you can think of anywhere we can play.
Thanks,
Jordan

Random sermon (written by me!)

Right so last Sunday we had to do this Youth Service in church. It was kind of a stupid time to do it cos half of our seniour youth where over in Australia enjoying the sun [lucky blighters!]. But anyway we soldiered on and had an awesome service. Mum wasn't sure if we needed an extra sermon or not so she got me to write one for her. I'm not to fond of getting up and talking so was pretty relieved that I didn't actually have to. Still, it's not to bad a sermon if I say so myself so here it is for you to read/get inspired/use if you really want to.....
John 9:1-12 [Jesus heals the blind man by putting mud on his eyes]
Jesus broke all the rules.
The Pharisees were into their rules. They had rules for everything, from praying to eating. And one of their fiercest rules was you were never, ever, ever allowed to do anything on the Sabbath Day. You could go to the synagogue, but that was about it. No baking, no walking more than half a mile, no healing, and no work.
Sheesh. I’m glad I wasn’t a Jew.
Jesus did not follow all these rules. That’s probably why the Pharisees hated him so much. Now back then there was all these other wandering rabbis with all their disciples, but usually the Pharisees just ignored them. The rabbis did their thing and the Pharisees did theirs.
Not so with Jesus. From the start when he was teaching the elders in the temple when he was only 12, there was always something about him which annoyed them. He constantly clashed with them over everything.
So there’s this begger on the side of the road. A common experience in those days. Jesus’s disciples then asked a question which was the typical worldview of the day. “Hey Jesus-this guy’s blind cos he or someone from his family sinned! Right?”
They saw a man who had been cursed with blindness through some fault of his own. Jesus saw a miracle waiting to happen.
So he spits, and makes up some mud. Meanwhile the disciples are looking on with skeptical looks as if they’re thinking “What on earth is Jesus doing? Has he forgotten it’s the Sabbath and that that he’s supposed to be staying clean?”
Then Jesus does something even weirder than making mud pies out of his own spit. He shoves the muck on the begger’s eyes and tells him to walk - yes walk - more than a mile to the pool of Siloam to wash the stuff off his eyes.
The disciples are pretty stunned. They are kind of in the backing away stage, as in What-on-earth-am-I-doing-hanging-around-with-weirdo-who-breaks-all-the-rules-man-I-hope-the-Pharisees-don’t-see-this-they-will-be-so-stinking-mad!
So off the blind man goes. And they never see him again. At least not as far as we know.
But the story’s not over for the blind man. He goes and washes his eyes in the pool and whoosh! He can see again!
The ex-blind-man throws away his walking stick and heads off home. On the way he bumps into a bunch of his neighbours. And at first they have no idea who he is. It’s not very often you see that blind-Simeon-guy-from-over the-road come back from begging jumping up and down and looking at you.
When they finally got who he was they asked who did such a miracle. He says this guy called Jesus put mud on my eyes and told me to go wash in a pool. They recoil back “Whoah man that’s so not kosher!”
The ex-blind man agrees and then they ask him where Jesus is. Who knows why, they probably wanted his autograph or him to fix their bunions.
Of course, the blind man has no idea where Jesus is, so all mildly disapointed (except the ex-blind man) they head off home.
That appears to be the end of the story.
The thing I love about this is Jesus didn’t just confirm to the rules of the day. He healed because it was the right thing to do, not because that’s what everyone expected him to do. He didn’t just follow the crowd-he lead the crowd! He didn’t just make mud, he made supernatural mud healing cream! He healed on the sabbath because the man needed to be healed, and because his disciples needed a lesson or two in faith. Through God you can break free of the things which restrict you most and your eyes will be opened by the most crazy thing there ever is. In God’s hands, mud can be a miracle.

Long time, no see......

Haven't blogged for a while now.
Not to much has been happening lately. Nate and Dan are away playing soccer on a tour for 7 days, we're going up to join them on Wednesday. By the time we've got back we'll be real rusty! We need a show or something to get our interest back.
Last Friday we did recording with Jason at our church was such mean fun. Except for one thing. I was playing my guitar and a string broke. Then I was busy trying to replace it, and found the bridge had popped out. I thought I might have been able to shove it back in but Dad says the wood has broken. I can still play it but will need hardcore repair work. For what it's worth, I might as well buy a new, better one.
So after I changed my string we started recording while Dad went to see if he could find another guitar. We did Crash this Party and pretty much nailed it first time. Jason played it back to us and it sounded mean!
After that we did I wish you were here and Dad went to borrow someone's guitar. This took quite a few trys to get right, but it is a bit of a fiddly song.
Then we started on Collisions, Descisions and Other Things. I was playing with a borrowed guitar which was a really beautiful red Ibanez. Man I hardcore wanted it. Only thing was it was a bit to twangy for our rockier songs. Then we did two more, and were going to stop there but Dad wanted us to record One to a Hundred cos he's obsessed with that song. Wasn't the best idea though because we haven't practiced it properly for ages so we had to run through it at least four times before getting it right. As a result the last 3 songs were done a bit fast and probably won't sound quite as good on the cd.
But still, 6 tracks is pretty impressive.
We'll be able to send one of them into this comp we're going to enter too. We might be able to get onto radio!
So I've been looking up guitars on Trademe. Found a few nice Ibanez ones but it's a bit of a hard choice cos I'd like a cheap one but I don't want it to break so I should probably spend a bit more coin than usual.
Man I need to get a decent paying job.
Apart from that I haven't been up to much. Just watching movies really. Boring aye but it's real wet and rainy here so I can't go outside to build my raft grrrrrrr.

Recording! (or something like it......)

Exciting news!
We're going into the studio tomorrow!
Well not exactly. We're really just going to our church to do some recording with Jason (our soundman+ recorder for our first concert/Problem Solved ep)
I'm pretty excited, except we might have to record seperate parts and I don't think we'll do that very well because all our stuff we only play together as a band. So a live kinda recording would probably work better at the moment.
We'll probably record Crash this Party and maybe a few others if we get the time.
I'm not sure if we will manage to though cos in the afternoon I've got some driving lessons with an instructer [argh!] and I have to teach my guitar student some stuff.
Busy busy busy!
I'll post some more news when it comes out!

It's all over!

We're FINISHED!
Today we spent about an hour and a half putting the finishing touches to Crash this Party including an awesome sounding keyboard solo (which would sound way better with a synth, which we unfortunately don't have). It sounds awesome though, for our 12th/13th song [we still haven't decided whether or not we're canning Make up Your Mind]. It's probably about my favourite band song as a whole (but not my favourite song to play-not much can beat Moonlight Shadows!).
I can't wait to play it live.

Crash this Party!

Our new song is almost done!
It's taken it's time but it has been seriously worth it.
It sounds MEAN!
Dad thinks we should start recording some of our stuff to which is a good plan except we won't even be able to publish it on the internet world because blogs won't take music files =[

CRASH THIS PARTY

We've got to make it/ We've got to make it this time/ We're so scared of failing/ As the world spins by/ But who cares what they think/ Who cares what they say/ Cos tonight we're alive/ And it's falling into place

Everybody get ready let's roll/ This party's getting out of control

Tonight we sing to the stars/ They tell us who we are/ And there's no question why/ Make a sound if you're alive/ So turn the music up loud/ Get your feet off the ground/ Before we know it: it's started/ Get ready: Crash this party

At least we've made it/ At least we've made it this far/ Put it behind us/ Let's not tear it apart/
Nothing can hold us down/ Nothing can hold us back/ We'll aim for the stars/ Cos we're ready for that

Whoah/ Hope you're feeling alive/ Whoah/ We'll crash this party tonight
(c) copyright Mayday 2009
Pretty mean aye?
