Tommorrow's a new day.

My goodness tommorrow is May-the 5th month of the year already! Man this year's gone fast, it feels like only yesterday it was Parachute.
It's been an awesome year so far, for us as a band. Had a concert, got recorded, wrote two new songs and fixed up another....
Brilliant.
We were also planning to rock out Fuse this year but dosn't look like that's happening-deep sigh.

Problem Solved ep!

Well today I put a few more finishing touches onto our cd case. I'm almost done! I bought a bunch of cds from Whitcolls the other day so we can start pumping out copies soon. This cd is titled Problem Solved ep and consists of 3 0f our songs performed live at Knox Church last month. Turn on the Lights, Fight for something that's worth everything, and I wish you were here.
The ep is called Problem Solved cos we noticed a common thread in all 3 songs about having problems with stuff in life and calling out to God to save us.
I'll see if I can post up a video of one of our songs sometime soon.
Stay tuned.

Today was random

Today has been relativly ok mostly but I've been a bit tired from the soccer game yesterday and a sleepover we had. Though we only stayed up till 1.15 (pretty pathetic) it was pretty fun.
The only problem with today is it's the last day of the holidays and you always get this sense of foreboding on the last day of the holidays cos tommorrow you've got school, and paper-runs, and oridanary life to get onto instead of whacky stuff like sinking boats and making catapults and sleepovers and writing songs and taking pictures.
Actually to be honest I didn't do that much in the holidays, mostly reading but it's fun to have the time to procrastinate.
Though it's kind of a good thing going back to ordinary. Youth Group, bible study, and everything else inbetween.
We managed to do a bit of band practice today but barely. I had to sing-man I suck at that!!!
Nate tried to do it while playing his drums, but he cracked up laughing mid-verse.
And when we went to Palmy the other day I got myself some cds so we can start getting out our ep as soon as we've done the case.

our crazy afternoon

Today was a bit boring, so this afternoon me and Jords fixed up his raft. Then we went down to the domain with our small boat and the raft.
The short story:
We sailed the boats but the raft sunk a bit. Jordan kept sinking. We got wet and eventually went home.
The long Story:
The raft only just floated. It was kinda just sitting on the water. I went on it in the duckpond down the bottom and Jords went on his tiny boat. Then he said: 'Hey nate, why don't we swap boats?!'
I was like, 'Uh..... maybe that's not such a good idea.'
It wasn't.
We both stood up on our boats. Jords stepped forward, so more of his weight went to the front. The front tipped up and water flooded in. A few seconds later his boat was at the bottom of the duckpond, with him still standing in it. Me and Dan sighed.
So I paddled the raft happily to the other side (which was closer), and Dan helped me up.
Then, after a bit of thinking we shoved the raft out to Jords. We held onto the rope, which was tied to it. Jords eventually got on the raft, and that started sinking too.....So then the sunken boat rose up and popped out of the water.. it looked quite funny.. yes, extremely funny.. So he jumped into that, chucked us the rope, and we pulled both boats and him in.
After a bit more paddling, Jords had another "good idea". This time, he thought we should have a race. So off me and him went. He was on the boat and I was on the raft. Then his boat looked a bit too full of water, so Dan told him to come back. He turned.
Bad mistake.
When he turned, he leant his body over.... which leant the boat over..... which made water flood in. A few seconds later, he was in exactly the same position as last time.
We all just stood there for a bit, then me and Dan sighed again.
Only this time it was more annoying, cause Jords was two metres from the other side. However, there were lots of weeds and cutting grass in the way, so we had to do it the long way.
I rowed back to the shore, then we shoved the raft out to Jords as far as we could.
Not far enough tho
Jords half jumped, half swam to the raft.
When he got there, we all cheered.
Only there was a problem.
The boat wasn't coming back up. Jords got back to the bank and we all stood there waiting.
I went out and prodded the bottom to see if I could find it. Once I actually hit it, but then lost it. The water was icy and I eventually gave up.
Dan went out and found it.
After a bit of jostling and shoving, it finally came out.
Then Mum picked us up.
The hot shower I had when I got home was the best thing all day.
It was insanely fun.

Disapointing

Well today was not really the best day of my life.
It was kind of random.
We haven't done much since Josh got knocked unconscious yesterday.
This was kinda our fault. We told him to swing on the soccer goal bar, but it was slippery so he fell off and landed on his back and blacked out.
So now he's not allowed to do anything rough for three weeks.
Anyway today was a bit dispiriting. I did my guitar practice, and some of my book (that was about the best bit!), and we went to the library.
Fun.
We haven't had a band practice for a few days now, but already we've got Under this Sun down. It's dead easy to play and sounds mean-especially my twisted guitar solo which is when I play my guitar weirdly (even more so than the Ember Days who play with a violin bow in some songs! It sounds awesome!). Only problem is when I was doing this the other day it didn't work cos the thing-I-was-using-instead-of-a-pick broke.
Luckily Dan managed to fix it.
I was going to do another attempt at doing a music video of one of our songs before but my stupid laptop is fully not working so I couldn't. ARGGHHH!
I think I'm going stir-crazy here.
I feel like I never want to go back to ok.
Problem is, I'm back there. =(
